Five group games will be played in Japan this weekend

There was only one fixture at the Rugby World Cup on Friday and it was South Africa who took victory in their clash with Italy.

Winning 49-3, the Springboks scored seven tries in the pool B encounter to seal the bonus point.

They are now top of the pool level on ten points with the Italians. New Zealand have nine points from two games and are in action on Sunday against Namibia.

Five matches will be played at the Rugby World Cup this weekend – three on Saturday and two on Sunday.

ITV will show live coverage of every match from the tournament.

Knockout matches and final

Pool fixtures conclude on 13 October and the quarter-finals will be held on 19-20 October.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup final will take place on Saturday 2 November at the International Stadium in Yokohama (9am).
